Madrigal operas Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda and Ballo delle Ingrate by Claudio Monteverdi. It is the first staging of these Monteverdi's operas in Lithuania. The music is based on the original copies of the parts, preserved in Bologna library. The new edition of both operas is also complemented by the use of puppets in respect of a historic tradition of travelling theatres to use puppets in their chamber performances. Thus, in these two productions the great expression of Monteverdi's music ingeniously blends with various baroque forms and with the opportunities of puppet theatre.
