Oskaras Koršunovas Theatre
Category: stage arts.
The Oskaras Koršunovas Theatre (OKT) has operated since 1999. The theatre relies on a progressive strategy in their art programme, having a solid repertoire comprised of both performances of contemporary drama and classical works. The main credo for the OKT Theatre is to stage classical works like contemporary drama, and contemporary drama like classical works.

The theatre knows that in today’s world it cannot stay creative and contemporary living and breathing in only a local context and avoiding the development of ties with theatres existing elsewhere and searching for artistic possibilities. The OKT Theatre will continue to look for new forms and ways of communicating – not only upon leaving the stage or the theatre house, but also by stepping beyond the borders of the traditional understanding of theatre. The theatre will continue to create their own architectural vision in the mind of the viewer.
The most famous plays of the theater are the following: William Shakespeare's “Hamlet”, "Romeo and Juliet", “Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Sophocles' "Oedipus Rex", Mikhail Bulgakov's “The Master and Margarita”, Marius von Mayenburg's "Fireface", Mark Ravenhill's „Shopping and fucking“.
Among Lithuanian theatres, the OKT Theatre is the one that most often has performances abroad.
